Birds in Snow

It did snow today - about 4 inches.
This junco in called the snowbird.
A white-throated sparrow braving the snow.
Those white streaks are snow, falling on this goldfinch.
The titmouse enjoys his seed.

Snow predicted

The full moon had clouds around it last night, and I think I can see the ring around the moon, and it is close.  They are calling for snow.
The snow started before lunch and brought this downy woodpecker to the suet feeder.
The cardinal has snow on his tail.
Two goldfinches on the niger seed feeder.
A titmouse head-on!

Secret Santa

Someone left this package of seeds at my door on Christmas Eve.  The instructions on the package said I was to spread the seed on my doorstep for New Year's good luck.  I did as I was told.
My first customer was this ever-present grey squirrel.  He thought it was a great Christmas present.
This female cardinal thought it was nice also.
But this male white-throated sparrow was very pleased with the hand-out.  He said Thank You, and so do I.
Merry Christmas!

More Gingerbread Houses

More gingerbread houses.
Who can resist an igloo!
Yum! Yum!
Small and sweet.

No room for another gumdrop!

Gingerbread and Trains

Each year at this time the staff treats us to a display of gingerbread houses with trains!
It is hard to find a favorite.
They are so creative.
Good enough to eat.
How do they dream up such wonderful creations.

Holiday Coffee Hour

It's that time of year
For coffee and tea
Goodies to eat
And conversation.

Peace Valley

The cardinals were out in force, showing their red color for the holidays.
Here's a downy woodpecker on the suet, showing his male red patch.
This white-breasted nuthatch was enjoying the peanuts.
A white-throated sparrow
You can almost see the reddish belly on this woodpecker, which makes it a red-bellied woodpecker and not a red-headed woodpecker.

Out and About

The beautiful, noisey geo-thermal drill is back to hook up sections G and K for this year (2013), and save us on ur heating bills.
The landscaping is completed in front of the new Post office apartment.
A tree buffer has been planted between the apartment and Route 202.
The top of the wall near 202 is being replaced.  Eventually, when 202 is completed the wall may be extended, but that will probably not be until 2017.  It is nice to have the 202 Parkway open.

The Rehabilitation Services are located on Main Street, and again with the proposed construction they will move to a more spacious room.
The podiatry office is located downstairs.
The dental office is located above podiatry, and here the dental assistant is getting ready for the next patient.
The Eliza Foulke Meditation Room is located on the second floor down the hall from the Library.  Meeting for Worship is held there on Thursdays at 10.
