Dead Wood

When a dead tree or limb of a tree becomes a hazard to people or structures, we hire an arborist to come in and remove them.
Such as this dead tree near the barn.
All piled up.
.This was one of my favorite trees because the birds liked to perch in it, but they will find another.
This one was along the Oak Path.
If split, I wonder if this will make good firewood?

Beaumont Again

Thursday was paving day.
A big job done.
Here is a closer look at the front of the house.
A peek at the front, which is the back.
There is a side trellis.
The carriage house landscaped.
A garden with the barn in the background.
There is to be an extension of the wall, but not as far as the Beaumont House.
The opening of the Beaumont House has been cancelled for this week, and will be rescheduled for December.

More Landscaping

Here is the sign for the Beaumont House.
There are now trees in the gassy area on the opposite side of the road, and the new walking path.
There are shrubs in front.
Here is a back corner, looking very nice.
There are also trees along the 202 side of the house.
And a view of the house as it will look from Rte 202.

Leaves

At this time of year we are treated to Mother Nature's beautiful leaf display.
Such as this parrotia in H Quad.
Lovely fall colors along Perimeter Road.
All over campus they were to be seen.
Again on Perimeter Road.
Some were hidden away.
But all those beautiful leaves on trees lead to leaves on the grass.
So along comes the grounds crew with their leaf catcher.
The leaves then make gigantic piles ready to be composted for garden use.

Craft Sale

Every year at this time we are treated to a wonderful craft sale in the auditorium.
It even overflows with these marvelous plants grown in our greenhouse.
A teddy or two for a grandchild.
Cards and books were everywhere.
Wonderful critters!
Who can resist something homemade to eat!

Yesterday

Some of the things I saw yesterday.  The new walkway.
Parking at the Beaumont House.
Some pretty fall leaves.
A fall scene near the Fitness Center.
Outside the Library.
At the children's playground.
Tree number 25 is a holly with a bird's nest in it!
