Out and About

Some one sent me this photo  from the patio by the Meadow Cafe from yesterday.  A break from this winter weather gets us out and about.
Today was great day to be walking Perimeter Road.  The paths and trails are all still snowed in.
There is still much destruction from the ice storm to be seen.
Our beekeeper was out checking the hives.
She had a lot of snow to trudge through to check the hives.  But may need to use snowshoes at the next stop.
The mallards found some open water in the wetland.
Even if you did not get out today, the greenhouse will still be lovely when winter returns tomorrow.
And who would believe it!  A winter aconite blooming along the walkway in "H".  Spring will come even this year!

Ice on Snow

Ice on snow makes for a pretty scene, even without the sun.
But it can cause major damage, such as this large broken limb.
We worry about some of our favorite flowering trees.
So much snow and ice.
Even on the bird feeder poles.
How does he hang on?

SNOW!

Yesterday we had about 9 inches of very wet snow, so the campus today was beautiful.  If we get ice tomorrow morning, it will not be so nice.
This beautiful sight is just outside the mailroom.
Outside the library.
The children's playground.
A crabapple near "D".
At the entrance to Gwynedd House.
A patio set waiting for spring.
One of the most elegant trees overlooks the parking by the loading dock.
Another beauty on the way to "R".
One of our favorite views, which will change with the campus renewal.
A bit of snow hugging the magnolia buds.
