We traveled far today to Bear Creek Preserve. One of the newer preserves of the Natural Lands Trust.
They welcomed us to the opening of the new Management Center.
While most of the group took a real hike, we walked the yellow trail.
Then we walked down to see the Creek, only a small tributary of Bear Creek.
We admired the winterberry,
and this little wood gnome.
We walked to the lookout on the Yellow Trail.
As you can see, it was still winter there.
But we did see the fly poison beginning to poke out of the ground, and I did see a spring azure butterfly, and the hikers saw a black and white warbler.
