Carol's Hawk

My neighbor, Carol, likes to put out birdseed on the ground for the little birds.
Of course, this bird is attracted to the little birds.  I would say it was a Sharp-shinned Hawk, however, the speaker we had from WVWA said we only get Cooper's Hawks.
It allowed us to approach, but it is looking at me.
On second thought, that may be a yawn.
It certainly is a pretty bird, though to the little birds it might look especially evil.

In Transition

Things are always changing, but the newly remolded apartments here at Foulkeways are very exciting.  This is the rear of H-8, where a new sunroom will be constructed.
Here you can see where the new addition will be.
It takes many trucks, machines and workers to do this.
And always mounds of dirt!
This adorable little one will transition every Spring into a bright yellow from its subdued winter plumage, that is if this is a male.

Ruffed Grouse!

Here is a ruffed grouse at the feeder.  No, not mine.  This is a photo of my computer screen  as I watched the Cornell Feeder Watch from Ontario.
Later there were some evening grosbeaks, and there are often also pine grosbeaks.
And often crowds of redpolls, but be sure to have your sound on so you can hear their chatter as they feed.  A fun site.
