August Beauties

Look for this Swamp Mallow in the wetland.
Near the pickerel weed you can see  this wetland flower.
In the back meadow the wild senna is blooming profusely, and it is beautiful.
The boltonia is beginning to bloom and will soon take over the front meadow.
The New York Ironweed stands tall and should be easy to find.
Boneset is one of my favorites, look for the perfoliate leaves.  ( The stem comes up through the leaf.)
Here is a little blue butterfly, no doubt it is a summer azure, not a spring azure.
What a treat to see this magnificent female Monarch on the swamp milkweed.  She was nectaring on the swamp milkweed, but appeared to be looking for the common milkweed, where I hope she laid some eggs.
